Privacy Policy
What is collected, why, and what happens to it, stated to match what the platform actually does.
Who we are
CopperMain is a platform that helps homeowners and businesses describe a plumbing problem and connect with independent service professionals. CopperMain does not perform plumbing work. Independent providers who receive requests are separate businesses with their own privacy practices.
What we collect
- Service request details, when you submit the form. Service category, problem description, urgency, property type, whether you own or rent, ZIP code, your name and phone number, and, if you choose to provide them, email address, street address and a preferred contact window. The request also records which page of this site the form was submitted from and the specific service it concerns.
- Your consent record. The version of the consent text you agreed to, the time of agreement, and the IP address and browser identifier of the submission, kept as proof of the consent you gave.
- Abuse protection. Each request stores a one-way cryptographic hash of the connecting address (not the address itself), used only to limit how many requests one connection can submit in a short window.
- Technical connection data. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses, browser identifiers and request logs to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
- Site analytics. Google Analytics 4 measures visits in aggregate: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and the referring site. It sets first-party analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) and sends this data to Google, which processes it under its own privacy policy. It does not receive what you type into the request form.
What the site does not do: no visitor accounts, no advertising trackers, no payment collection. Cookies: the analytics cookies described above, and strictly operational cookies Cloudflare may set (for example, for security challenges).
How request details are used
- Fulfilling your request. Matching it with independent providers who cover your area, and contacting you about it under the consent given on the form.
- Coverage planning. Aggregated, non-identifying request data (service type, area, urgency) tells us where verified providers are needed.
- Compliance and safety. Preventing abuse of the form and meeting legal obligations.
Sharing
The mechanism: to fulfill a request, its details are shared with the matched independent provider(s), under the consent you give on the form, and for no other purpose. Service providers acting for the platform (hosting and data storage: Cloudflare; site analytics: Google) process data on our instructions.
Current status: provider integrations are not yet active. Requests submitted today are stored by CopperMain and are not shared with any third party beyond the hosting infrastructure named above. This section is updated when the first provider connections go live, before any sharing begins.
We do not sell personal information for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correction, deletion. You may ask what we hold about your request, correct it, or have it deleted: submit the request form with “Privacy request” at the start of the description. Such requests are handled as records matters and are not shared with providers; the form's consent checkbox, for these messages, covers only being contacted back about the request itself.
- Withdrawing contact consent. You may withdraw contact consent at any time by submitting a “Privacy request” message the same way, naming the request to close; it is then closed and not shared further.
- State privacy rights. Depending on your state, additional rights may apply (such as notice and opt-out rights under California law). When provider routing is active, sharing request details with providers may qualify as “sharing” under some state definitions; an opt-out mechanism activates together with routing.
Retention, children, changes
- Retention. Request records are kept while relevant to fulfilling the request and planning coverage, and deleted on verified request.
- Children. The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
- Changes. Updates are posted on this page; material changes to how requests are shared take effect for new requests, not retroactively.
